Lethornes Stables is one of Lambourn’s oldest racehorse yards and was built in 1898 when it was named Waltham House Stables. Part of the stables are Victorian and the rest were built in the Edwardian era. In the early 1900s Waltham House was owned by Thomas Worton who because of his business in London employed several trainers to keep the stables going.
I have trained at Lethornes Stables since 1982. The yard is in Upper Lambourn and has excellent facilities to work from with a horsewalker, turnout pens, well ventilated stables and a veterinary box as well. It is very well located for access to the gallops and training areas.
